As a third-year fashion student, I made a compact unisex collection based on an ethnic costume. Therefore I looked at my roots and chose for the Royal Dress of the Kuba King from the Congo. Although vivid colors and prints are present, it is the message of this collection that is the opposite.

In the Kingdom of signs represents the mix of the African perception of the Black man, where he is a king. And the Western perception where the black man is seen as a criminal or dangerous. A juxtaposition of #whentheysseus and #whenIseeus. A story based on my experience, perception, struggle, and tears. But also about my joy, pride, and DNA.
